Extainer — Immersive Design Objects

Anton Edelshtein is a Tel Aviv–based designer and researcher working at the intersection of research‑driven object design and immersive spatial experiences. Grounded in a rhizomatic methodology, his conceptually rigorous practice explores objecthood as dynamic, open, and contextually charged. By deconstructing familiar artifacts to reveal peripheral and negative spaces, Edelshtein invites new relational and affective interactions that challenge conventional notions of function and context.

About the Project

Anton Edelshtein’s design practice conceives of objects not as static, fixed forms but as dynamic open systems shaped by interaction, context, and perception. During his graduate research, Edelshtein developed a rhizomatic methodology that rejects linear design models in favor of non‑hierarchical, network‑like processes. The Extainer series explores this approach, transforming familiar objects into open structures of potential where function moves to the periphery and new relational meanings emerge.
